Make Something Monday (er... I mean, Tuesday...)

My awesome friend Brandi over at Mama Knows It All has started a new link-up- Make Something Monday, where she invites us to make something and then post about it.  I made this yesterday, but in the hustle and bustle of Halloween I just didn't get around to posting about it until today.

I don't know why, but I've traditionally made Green Bean Casserole every year since I got my own apartment.  It's not something my mom did or my grandmother did, I just fell in love with it for some odd reason and started making it on Halloween night because I decided it was a nice warm dish that paired well with my annual bottle of spiced wine while I greeted trick-or-treaters!

I just do the basic recipe on the side of the French's Fried Onions container with some minor tweaks.  I switch out the regular Cream of Mushroom soup with the Cream of Mushroom with Roasted Garlic and then I switch out the regular fried onions with the cheddar variety.

Not every store carries these 2, so when I see them, I stock up for other fall and winter parties.

*Another important note- I always use frozen green beans for this, not the canned beans, because I really think it tastes so much better that way.

Mmmmm.... Seriously, this stuff is tha bomb.  I'm getting hungry just writing about it- and we have leftovers upstairs, so I'm gonna run up and grab a little plate now!

Did you make any fun or delicious dishes yesterday for Halloween?  Share in the comments section below!

  1. Every year we have hot roast beef sandwiches and this gooey melty cheese dip, it's a block of velvetta, browned ground beef, jar of salsa and a can of corn. You put it in a crock pot and let it get all gooey and melty and serve with tortilla chips. Its so good but i am sure not so good for you!

  2. Mmmm that sounds awesome! Who wrote this delicious idea?? You come up as Anonymous

  3. We make this, too, but I've never tried frozen green beans. Now I want to do so.
